The Kutai Guy came to us with an exceptional product, strong family values and an authentic Northland story with the potential and ambition to reach far beyond the local market.
The opportunity was to transform a small regional producer into a recognised New Zealand food brand by building awareness, creating customer demand and developing the marketing foundations needed to support rapid growth.
With ambitions extending beyond direct sales into retail distribution and new markets, the focus was on creating a scalable brand and digital ecosystem capable of supporting the next stage of the journey.

WHAT WE DID
Working alongside business owners Zarn and Michelle Reichardt, we developed and delivered an integrated marketing programme spanning strategy, awareness campaigns, retail marketing, media relations, website optimisation and ecommerce growth.
Supporting this was a strong focus on email marketing, social media growth and customer retention, helping transform a local producer into a nationally recognised brand with the foundations in place ready for international expansion.

In just 18 months, The Kutai Guy grew from a local producer into a nationally recognised seafood brand.
Strategic digital marketing activity helped build a loyal customer community and valuable customer database, creating strong repeat purchase behaviour and direct-to-consumer growth. Media relations and award success significantly expanded brand awareness, generating repeated coverage in national media and establishing the brand as one of New Zealand's emerging food success stories. This momentum supported rapid retail expansion, with products securing distribution through Foodstuffs and independent retailers nationwide.
